6 Fun Family Activities To Attend In Houston

Known to some as the Bayou City, Houston is one of the largest cities in North America.  Houston stretches gracefully to the south, all the way to Galveston Bay. The Bay offers beaches, and a chance to see NASA’s Mission Control Center.

If you’re planning a vacation for the entire family, the City of Houston is ready to accommodate your needs.  Here is a brief overview of some of the most fun family activities to check out while you’re in the Houston area.

Children’s Museum of Houston

The coolest thing about the Children’s Museum of Houston is that your children will be attracted to different aspects of the museum as they age.  Their developmental growth is highlighted in the best ways possible.

The museum spreads across 90,000 square feet, and there are plenty of exhibits to fill the spaces.  Some of the different areas include the Tot Spot, Kidtropolis, and How Does It Work?.  There is also a chance for face painting and checking out little baby chicks.

1940’s Air Terminal Museum

This museum is staged inside of the Houston area’s first airport terminal.  You and the kids can watch planes coming and going from the runway and check out cool aerial memorabilia at the same time.

Check out the 1928 Carter Airmail Hangar to get a peek at a one of a kind collection of planes.  You’ll spot a Hawker Business Jet, a St. Louis Helicopter, and the Lockheed Lodestar.

Wet ‘N’ Wild Splashtown

If you’re looking for the best place to have fun without having to keep an eye on the kids every second, check out Wet ‘N’ Wild Splashtown.  Let the establishment take responsibility for any injuries which may occur, and let the kids get wet and wild!

Your evening will be filled with lots of peace and quiet after a long day in the Houston sun at Splashtown.  Give the kids something to burn their extra energy, and enjoy a peaceful evening.

Houston Arboretum and Nature Center

Teach your children to enjoy and love all things nature at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center.  You can forget you’re in the middle of a huge city while in the throws of the beauty of the Arboretum.

You can also choose to tour the “Arboretum At Night.”  You and the family will go hiking, camping, and enjoy all sorts of animal encounters along the way.  Just don’t forget the mosquito spray in the summer, as the flying pests can get a bit intrusive.

Space Center in Houston

Build lasting memories for your children, and take them to a place they’ll never forget.  The Space Center in Houston will give your child a mind for the stars. Tour the center, and find Rocket Park in the end.  You’ll get to explore the Saturn V rocket for as long as your heart desires.
